It is the first time BMW has made an SUV of this size. BMW X7 is the biggest SUV till date. It is available in two variants – One Petrol and One Diesel. xDrive30d DPE Signature (Diesel) is assembled in India and xDrive 40i (Petrol) is imported as a CBU unit. The DPE Signature variant is priced at Rs 1.02 crore and the xDrive40i M Sport petrol variant is priced at Rs 1.06 crore (all prices are Ex-showroom, India). Both variants are being offered with BMW’s all-wheel-drive system. Being a seven-seater, it comes with three rows of seating. Both petrol and diesel variants use a 8-speed automatic transmission. X7’s features, BMW has equipped its biggest SUV yet with features like BMW Live Cockpit Professional, adaptive air suspension on both axles, two 10.2-inch full HD screens in the second row that respond to touch inputs, a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon music system, a panoramic sunroof, Parking Assistant Plus with Surround View Camera (automatically parks in tight places), a Reversing Assistant that keep a record of the last 50 metres driven, six airbags as well as Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) that includes Corner Braking Control (CBC). The BMW X7 goes up against the Mercedes-Benz GLS and Audi Q7 in India as they are 7-seat luxury SUVs as well.
