The new – generation Porsche 911 is launched in India. The eighth-generation Porsche 911 coming to India was internally codenamed 992 and retains the iconic silhouette that is distinctive to the Porsche 911 family. Furthermore, the car also comes with a heavily revised, more powerful range of six-cylinder turbo petrol engines. In India the new Porsche 911 comes in two variants as of now - Carrera S and Carrera S Cabriolet, priced at Rs. 1.82 crore and 1.99 crore respectively (Ex showroom price). The Porsche 911 comes with and completely new cabin a dashboard that has been inspired by the 911 models of the 1970s, but the traditional dials have been replaced by digital displays with the rev counter in the centre. The multi-function steering wheel is new. There is also a new 10.9-inch touchscreen monitor within the centre console and comes with a host of connectivity functions including navigation featuring swarm-based data. 911 is available in 2 variants. All the variants are Automatic. 911 is offered in 10 colours. However, some of these colours are available in specific versions. 911 is competing against Porsche Panamera, Maserati Quattroporte, Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, Land Rover Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Nissan GT-R
