Volkswagen is a German automaker founded on 28th May, 1937. It is the largest automaker by worldwide sales in 2016 and 2017. The Volkswagen Group has a division in India known as Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd. founded in 2007. It is one of the best automaker in India too.

Volkswagen India operates a manufacturing plant in Pune ( Chakan ) Maharashtra which is capable of producing 2,00,000 vehicles per annum. Volkswagen has an engine assembly facility built in 2015 at a cost of 240 crore. The plant reportedly holds production capacity of about 98,000 engines annually. Volkswagen India has 119 showrooms and 119 service centers across 96 cities. The vehicle sold by the company includes Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Vento, Volkswagen Ameo, Volkswagen Tiguan and Volkswagen Passat.
