2021 MERCEDES MAYBAC GETS A NEW S 480 4MATIC SIX CYLINDER ENGINE IN CHINA

In the United States as well as in Germany the Mercedes Maybac comes with bi turbo V8 engine. Twelve cylinder engine are also lined up in the making. As for the Chinese market the automaker have given the 2021 Maybac a six cylinder S 480 Engine with an all-wheel drive 4Matic transmission. The automaker have downsized the engine to a six cylinder to make the vehicle more pocket friendly as there are high taxes imposed on higher displacement engines.

Maybac New S 480 Powertrain

The new Mercedes Maybac S 480 comes with a 3.0 litre, inline six cylinder engine which produces a max power of 367hp and a max torque of 500Nm @1600-4000rpm. It also has a 48V EQ boost which is like a mild hybrid system seen in other S Class line up which can provide a short boost of 20hp. The engine is mated with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and the power is delivered to all four wheels with Mercedes 4Matic all-wheel drive system. With this powertrain the Maybac can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 5.8 seconds.

Interior and features

The Mercedes Maybac S 480 gets various luxurious and convenient features. The feature list on offer includes an updated second gen MBUX infotainment system with a 12.8-inch OLED Touchscreen, a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster, and up to three screens for rear-seat passengers. There is leather seat upholstery along with wood insert on the dash board, around inside door handles and panels. It also gets an electrically recline able rear seats which can recline up to as much as 43.5 degrees. The seats also gets massage function with heating and cooling function.

The package also includes ambient lighting, wireless charging function at the front and rear, 3D surround sound system by Burmester, powered rear door opening and closing and much more.

Mercedes Maybac Launch Plan in India

Mercedes Benz India is going to launch Maybac S 580 after it launches the new S Class, the S 580 will be assembled at the Chakan plant in Pune but the exact launch date has not yet been confirmed. However there is no official announcement regarding the launch of Maybac S 480 but it may came with a more affordable pricing in the Indian market.
